AMG Services' First "Cruise with Shoes" Run a Well-Attended Success

More than 700 runners made tracks this weekend in the first annual “Cruise with Shoes” 5k Fun Run sponsored by the website Fitness Life Stories.

Corpus Christi, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/03/2014 -- Fitness Life Stories sponsored AMG Services’ first annual “Cruise with Shoes” 5k run this weekend. The event saw a turnout of more than 700 runners, which was more than double the expected 300 participants. The run was preceded by a costume contest where winners were judged on the creativity of their ‘50s-themed pink lady and greaser costumes. Prizes were given both to individuals and groups.

AMG Services is a health conscious company. The company’s main concern focuses on bringing awareness to health issues while helping others become more health-conscious in order to lead better lives, whether it is through fitness or eating right. AMG Services has been a leader in the world of health and fitness support for more than 18 years and choose to support the community with health and fitness information as well as live events, such as “Cruise with Shoes.”

“It’s a great event,” said Jim Stockwell, executive director AMG Services. “How many chances do you get to run on down a huge street with several hundred vintage cars?”

The run began at 9 AM and lasted several hours. The event attracted athletes and families alike: some participants were sporting elaborate tattoos and fancy running gear, while others pushed strollers. Every person is encouraged to participate no matter their level of fitness.

“It’s a great way to attract a younger, more environmentally friendly crowd to the “Cruise with Shoes” event,” said Patty Larson, founder of Fitness Life Stories and event attendee. “It’s geared toward the whole family, and we love that. I think that is what got large numbers young people and runners involved.”
