Cranston, RI -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/25/2016 -- The 40th Annual Meeting Street Telethon Fundraiser took place on January 30. This year's televised event was one of the most successful. Businesses throughout the region lent a helping hand to the success of this year's event, including an award-winning personal injury law firm, Bottaro Law. The event raised money for the Meeting Street schools which focus on providing local special needs children with an appropriate education in a safe and healthy learning environment.

This year's telethon donations totaled over $1-million, surpassing the organization's goal within four hours. In addition to making a contribution toward Meeting Street's financial goal, Mike and his staff participated in the event in multiple ways.  The firm sponsored the Children Activity area in the School's gymnasium, where Firm staff volunteered with children during the event.  Firm members manned the phone center to help take additional donations. During the month of January, the firm held a "mini-fundraiser" on their Facebook page to support the cause with a 'Facebook Like Campaign.' For every new like on the Bottaro Law Facebook page, the firm donated $1 to Meeting Street.

Meeting Street serves over 4,500 families throughout the Providence, Rhode Island and Dartmouth, Massachusetts region from their two locations. Over 80 percent of the children served are under the age of 6. Meeting Street's mission is to "provide children with all abilities to foster growth academically, developmentally, and emotionally through inclusive education."
