Dr. Langdon to Discuss Full-Face Single-Pass CO2 Laser Resurfacing and Minimum Incision Deep Plane Facelift at the 2019 Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Symposium

Guilford, CT -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/20/2019 -- Robert Langdon, MD, will be giving two presentations at the 15th annual Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Symposium. The 2019 Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Symposium will be held June 5th through June 8th at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The symposium hosts the leading educators and teachers in facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology, and oculoplastic surgery. It is considered the largest multi-speciality forum in the aesthetic field and offers outstanding educational and networking opportunities.

On June 7th, Dr. Langdon will discuss full-face, single-pass CO2 laser resurfacing, an improvement over conventional CO2 laser resurfacing. Conventional resurfacing is a two-step process in which the epidermis (topmost layer of the skin) is completely removed, followed by a second laser treatment on the exposed dermis to contract this deeper layer of skin.

Conventional CO2 laser resurfacing leads to a lengthy recovery period of about two weeks followed by two or more months of redness. Full-face, single-pass CO2 laser resurfacing is a one step process that also affords significant skin tightening but is followed by a simple, safe, and quick recovery because the protective epidermis remains intact after treatment.

On June 8th, Dr. Langdon will discuss his technique of minimum incision deep plane facelift. In a traditional facelift, a surgeon makes a skin incision in front of the ear, extending behind the ear into the hairline. A traditional facelift is performed under general anesthesia and comes with a recovery time of anywhere between two weeks and a month, making it a difficult surgery for patients with busy lives.

Dr. Langdon's minimum incision deep plane facelift procedure requires only local anesthesia and a much shorter incision, leading to a quicker recovery period and a reduced risk of complications. It is a great alternative to a traditional facelift and can provide patients with a more natural-appearing and long-lasting result.
