New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/31/2018 -- Calling all Dog Moms who are sophisticated, beautiful, kind, confident, and willing to share the spotlight with their fur baby. Chase & Papi, Pet Lifestyles Magazine, and WizSmart Dog Pee Pads are proud to announce the first pageant for the stylish, poised, and articulate Dog Mom and the most glamorous dog. According to Desh Valcin, Pageant Founder and owner of Chase & Papi the luxury pet event planning company, "We are celebrating the character and confidence of dog moms who truly stand out from the pack with this unique pageant concept. This event promises to be what Chase and Papi is known for, a merger of glamour and fun that engages and entertains the community of devoted pet parents." Auditions to compete in the Miss Dog Mom Pageant are required in order to be considered as a contestant; they will be held Saturday, August 4th as well as Saturday, August 18th and Saturday, August 25th in a midtown Manhattan studio location. 21 contestants will be chosen from the group of candidates who audition in August of 2018 for the May 2019 Pageant final.

Dogs will compete solely in the evening wear category; however, Dog Moms will be judged on character, poise, confidence, and personality in the three segments of the competition: Interview, Style Challenge, and Evening Gown. There is no performing talent required on the part of Dog Moms, Desh Valcin emphasizes that the Pageant is open to "outgoing, intelligent and dynamic women who are excited to represent the beauty of being a dog mom. Body proportion and personality are what counts, not a specific body measurement." Pageant newcomers welcome. There are no height or weight restrictions for Dog Moms or their dogs. Each category will be equally scored by a panel of celebrity judges to be announced closer to Pageant date.

It is important to note that all contestants are competing on behalf of an animal rescue or similar respected not-for-profit organization involving dogs. The winner of the pageant, Miss Dog Mom herself, will not only receive a cash prize but a donation will be made in their name to their favorite pet charity or animal rescue group. There will be several tiers of prizes and awards which will be announced closer to the pageant date in the Spring of 2019.
