Griffith College Graduate Wins Inspirational Arts Photography Award 2011

Steven Doyle awarded €1,000 prize for his work entitled “Time Served”

Dublin, Ireland -- (SBWire) -- 10/06/2011 --Griffith College photography graduate Steven Doyle was announced winner of the Inspirational Arts Award on Friday 23rd September 2011.

The Inspirational Arts Photography Award was held in association with Culture Night in the Inspirational Arts Gallery, Herbert Street, Dublin. The award was open to all final year students on the BA in Photographic Media, with the aim of supporting emerging photographic artists.

Steven was awarded a prize fund of €1,000 to go towards his next project by renowned Irish artist Sean Hillen, who was the judge throughout the competition. Steven was also invited to hold a solo exhibition in the Inspirational Arts Gallery in 2012.

Steven said of his achievement, “I was honoured to be nominated and to win is truly amazing.”

“I would like to thank the Inspirational Arts team for their commitment to upcoming artists and also the staff at Griffith College for the freedom and support I was given to pursue this body of work with their guidance and for their for their continued support. I am looking forward to holding my first solo exhibition in the gallery next year,” he concluded.

Steven’s winning work is entitled “Time Served” was inspired by trades people who have been affected by the recession. His work and that of his fellow nominees, Kamile Matulaityle and Ciara O’Halloran, will be on display at the Inspirational Arts Gallery throughout the month of October. http://www.inspirationalarts.ie/
