February 23rd Marks the 5th Anniversary of the Annual Classic & Sports Car Auction at Bodnar's Auction

New Brunswick, NJ -- (SBWire) -- 01/23/2019 --Bodnar's Auction Sales is gearing up for their 5th annual Classic and Sports Car Auction. On Saturday, February 23rd the red carpet will be rolled out for some beautiful classic and sports cars to cross the auction block. This event is held in conjunction with the NJ Home Show at the NJ Convention and Expo Center at 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison, NJ.

Joseph Bodnar, of Bodnar's Auction Sales, is excited for this year's event, as it grows bigger each year. "We started this event back in 2015 with the help of Eric Udler, who runs the NJ Home Show. We came up with this idea to give the crowds coming to the Home Show something new to see. It was such a huge success; we ran with it." In the first year, the two most notable sales were a 1931 Ford Model A and a 1954 Chevy Bel Air convertible. The 1931 Ford Model A was in completely original condition and sold for $8,625. The 1954 Chevy Bel Air convertible was in a fantastic, eye-popping blue that sold for $18,400. This sealed the fate of the classic car auction becoming a yearly event.

In 2016, the stakes were higher. Trying to compete with last years numbers would not be easy, but it was a resounding success with a 2003 Dodge Viper bringing in the high bid at $28,750 and a 1972 MG seeing a solid $5,635 high bid.

2017 was also a huge year for the classic car auction. There was an original 1930 Chrysler Roadster Model 66 that was absolutely beautiful and was taken home by the highest bidder for $17,365. A 2002 Harley Davidson Soft-Tail Deuce Special Edition, numbered 110 out of 150, was a winner at $9,200. Completely outshining the rest was a 1982 DeLorean in original condition at 1,600 miles, bringing in $36,225. This was by far a crowd favorite! All in all, this was a big year for the Classic and Sports Car Auction in NJ.

2018 was another big year for the sale with a completely restored 1967 Chevy Camaro SS that was taken home by a happy buyer for $21,850. The cars mentioned are just a sampling of what was sold in the past few years. There have been many more — too many to mention here.

The Classic and Sports Car Auction is widely attended, with over 10,000 people coming through the building during the weekend. With this kind of exposure, it is no wonder why the cars fly out of the building, one after another, every year! Those interested in having their car featured in the local NJ auction should contact Joseph Bodnar at 732-951-2100 or at joebodnar@bodnarsauction.com. Remaining spots are limited so please do not wait.
