The horrendous act of selling Oshodham Commune in Pune has aggravated Osho lovers all across the world and has joined the campaign to get the petition withdrawn. A section of Osho’s followers have accused the trustees running the Osho commune in Pune, mainly foreigners to have attempted to sell the sprawling commune to a Pune-based developer backed by a top Maharashtra- based politician.

The Rs 1,000-crore property in Pune, now renamed Osho International Meditation Resort, is one of Pune’s finest attractions and fascinates hundreds of visitors every day. The entrance cost is somewhere near Rs 1,000 with extra charge for food and other beverages inside the resort. A petition has been filed by a group of trustees of the organization to the Charity Commissioner in order to manage the affairs of the resort to by a private limited company while another group of trustees is opposing the same.

The petition to sell the property has been filed by two main personnel named Yogesh Thakkar, alias Swami Prem Geet and Kishore Raval, alias Swami Prem Anandi who are seeking to sell the property under any circumstances whatsoever. The petition claims, “The Pune properties of the commune were established by Osho's followers, who spent their hard labour, time, money and dedication in order to teach Osho's philosophy.”

However, the so called members of Osho International Foundation (OIF) have denied any such attempt to sell the commune to any developer. “We sincerely believe Oshodham has its own soul and energy that runs this place. We love OSHO and we don't believe in all this political controversy. We know Osho International Meditation Resort is here for us and it will be forever.” Zinn Da, an Osho lover at Pune commented on the issue.

Several online campaigns on various echelons have been initiated by OIF members challenging the petition.
