Employment Rate Improving in the Country, EmploymentCrossing Finds over 422,000 Jobs Nationwide

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 11/28/2011 --Unemployment rates are falling in most parts of U. S. allowing them to experience modest job gains. According to the Labor Department, nearly 36 states experienced a fall in the unemployment rates while only 5 states saw a rise.

In the District, unemployment rates decreased to 11 percent with a rise in the private sector jobs. The previous month's rate was 11.2 percent. Maryland's jobless rate dropped to 7.2 percent from 7.4 percent, while Virginia's rate fell to 6.4 percent from 6.5 percent.

On the other side, California employers added the second-largest number of jobs in October amongst the 50 states, but that didn't prevent California from having the country's second-highest unemployment rate for last month.

Nevada posted an unemployment rate of 13.4% while, Michigan and Mississippi had unemployment rates of 10.6%, and South Carolina was at 10.5%.

Illinois added net 30,000 new jobs making it the biggest jump between September and October. California came in second with 25,700 new jobs.
