Praslin, Seychelles -- (SBWire) -- 11/30/2011 --The spa at Raffles Praslin Seychelles is the first signature Raffles Spa. Every new Raffles hotel will have a Raffles Spa and the concept is being woven into existing spas within the group.

The guiding philosophy is Transformation - embodied in the lotus flower, the symbol of transformation, which represents long life, health, honour and good luck.

Treatments are divided by Bud (body), Blossom (beauty) and Bloom (full experiences) to represent the stages of the lotus.

To create a sense of place, a local expression of the Raffles spa philosophy of transformation will be at the core of each spa, wherever it is in the world. At Raffles Praslin Seychelles, the first Raffles Spa, this is the pearl. Black pearls come from the island of Praslin – and pearls have been used as a beautifying ingredient for years. The pearl start as a grain of sand, then flourishes in unpolluted waters. This combination of water and pearly luminescence is captured throughout the spa in this Seychelles Luxury Resort (http://www.raffles.com/praslin/home). The sea and pearl nets are visible from each of the 13 treatment room (six of the treatment rooms are outdoor, so guests can hear the sea) and lighting and artwork is subtly inspired by the pearl.

Guests enter down stairs between two infinity pools that overlook the Indian Ocean. On arrival guests are welcomed into a light and airy pavilion decorated with delicate mother-of-pearl chandeliers and pearl coloured and decorated cushions to reflect the philosophy of transformation of the spa, as well as a nod to Seychelles’ reputation for producing exquisite pearls.

There are 13 treatment pavilions named after types of pearls, all offering spectacular views, some are open plan allowing guests of this Seychelles Hotel (http://www.raffles.com/praslin/home) to hear the ocean. Two spa suites, a first in the Seychelles, are fitted with steam showers, Japanese soaking tubs, and observation decks where guests can enjoy stunning vistas in privacy.

Raffles Spa features a selection of facials, massage treatments, signature treatments, body therapies, couples treatments, hand & foot treatments, hair services and bridal services. Kirstin Florian products are used for the beauty treatments. Treatments include:

- Pure Pearl Signature Treatment (1hr 30 mins)
A therapeutic grade pearl powder is blended with soothing tropical essences of organic ylang ylang and bergamot to exfoliate the skin; followed by a gentle wrap of rehydrating masque completed with a sea derived eye masque therapy and massage of the face, scalp and feet.

- Champagne and Caviar Couples Treatment (4hrs)
The indulgence begins with a 90-minute full-body massage of your choice followed by a Caviar Luxe Luminescence Facial. To complete the experience, relax with a glass of champagne accompanied with 50 grams of Beluga Caviar in the spa suite’s Japanese style soaking tub.

- The Eternal Beauty of Lotus Facial (2hrs)
A sublime luxury treatment inspired by the transformation of the Lotus Flower as it emerges from the depths with remarkable beauty. After the magical mood-setting of the Lotus Ceremony and the gentle yet intensive cleansing, experience the exceptionally luxurious treatment of the Lotus Regeneration Pearls.
