Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWire) -- 12/13/2011 --The sixth edition of the titanium dioxide series reports was published by CCM International recently. The new report, with the title Survey of Titanium Dioxide in China (The Sixth Edition) indicates that China’s titanium dioxide industry is expected to have a promising future.

After a rapid growth in the past few years, China has become the biggest titanium dioxide production country since 2009. From 2006 to 2011, domestic titanium dioxide capacity has increased with CAGR of 9.84%. With lots of environment pollution caused by sulfate process in titanium dioxide production, Chinese government has set a series of policies to restrict the capacity expansion with sulfate process in 2011. And it is estimated that the capacity of China’s titanium dioxide will increase slowly in the coming 5 years.

China’s export volume has also enjoyed a fast development in the past. The export volume has increased nearly double from 2005 to 2010. And China has been a titanium dioxide net exporter since 2010.

In addition, China is one of the largest consumers of titanium dioxide in the world. From 2006 to 2010, the apparent consumption of domestic titanium dioxide has witnessed an increasing trend with CAGR of 11.34%. The titanium dioxide is mainly consumed in coating, plastic and papermaking industries in China. And in H1 2011, the consumption volume of titanium dioxide in these three fields accounts for about 81.5% of the total. It is estimated that the consumption volume of titanium dioxide in China would see a further growth.
