Sherman Oaks, CA -- (SBWire) -- 05/21/2019 --The firm of White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna and Hunt are pleased to announce that one of their own, Warren Sacks, CPA, CFF, was a speaker at The CP Cal Celebration XIV.

The CP Cal Celebration XIV, Collaborative Practice of California, comes together annually to share, network and grow the collaborative divorce practice. This year the event was in San Diego, CA.

Sacks wasa presenter at the event.Warren Sacks presentation with Stephanie Maloney and James Walton, "Best Practices for Support Agreements Considering Clients' Emotions," focused on two things: motivation for resolution and resistance to resolution when it comes to support.

"In mediation collaborative divorces, there is often a question of support for one of the two clients.Naturally, the support is often a question of money, and money always comes with highly charged emotions. This presentation and round table discussion focused on how to provide information on finances during negotiations when it comes to a divorce while understanding our client's emotions and mindsets. There is intensive focus on communication when negotiating support – what tools of communication work well with two divorcing clients is paramount when assisting clients in agreeing upon support," said Sacks.

Another part of the presentation is how people enter these negotiations with bias.Bias that is often unintentional.Sacks, Maloney and Waltondiscussed with participants how to recognize and overcome these biases for the benefit of the divorcing clients.

"Divorce does not have to be unpleasant. There are plenty of examples in collaborative divorces. Even in these divorces, having the tools to talk finances is important. This way all clients are treated equally," continued Sacks.

Sacks has over three decades of accounting experience in assisting clients through the financial aspects of divorce. He has extensive experience in standards of living reports and gross cash flow for support. It is these two areas, as well as understanding the clients' emotions, that gives Sacks unique insight into the clients coming to agreement regarding support when working in a peaceful divorce. He is a senior partner in the accounting firm.

The event took place April 26th and 27th at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa, 1775 East Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, Calif., 92109.Additional information about the event, including speakers, is available at the website.
