World's First Magnetic Light Up STEAM Blocks Launches on Kickstarter

Build through magnetic forces. Explore light & sound. Discover electronics while having fun!

Hong Kong, China -- (SBWire) -- 08/27/2019 --Tactbit Cubes have just launched on Kickstarter. Tactbit Cubes are the world's first magnetic, light up STEAM blocks. Loaded with unique snappy magnets, the blocks build quick and easy. Snap on the power cube and the blocks lights up. Twist a light cube and it changes color. Wheel cubes, sound cubes and recording cubes create endless opportunities for invention. Geared for the youngest scientists and up, Tactbit Cubes get children to snap, light, and invent.

Designed by an Build through magnetic forces. Explore light & sound. Discover electronics while having fun!

award-winning, Hong Kong product engineer, Tactbit Cubes feature a unique patented design that allows for a fully rotatable magnetic and electronic connection between each cube. You can twist the cubes a full 360° and the inbuilt LED bulbs keep their circuitry and shine bright. The smooth magnetic planes make building easy; with no interlocking parts, they simply snap and build.

"The innovation behind the design is its ease of play," explained Patrick Poon, Tactbit Cube's creator. "Tactbit Cubes are an inclusive manipulative. Everyone, no matter their fine motor skills, can access the joy of building and discovery."

To assist in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) discovery, the Tactbit website offers a collection of hands-on learning guides that teach the basics of circuits and magnetism though Tactbit play. To further its commitment to STEAM learning, Tactbit has teamed up with Bridges 365, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit committed to bridging the resource gap in low-income communities. With every 6-Cube "Give One, Get One" set (US$29) pledged on Kickstarter, Tactbit will donate an equal set to Bridges 365.

"Through successful funding" Patrick shared, "I'll have the resources to drive Tactbit Cubes to a whole new stage of product development. I've just scratched the surface of STEAM discovery. I have plans to add motors and sensors into the cubes and integrate them with smart programming. Children can grow with Tactbit as they learn new and advanced skills."

Tactbit Cubes are fully prototyped and are 100% ready for mass production. The Kickstarter campaign offers a range of reward tiers to suit many budgets and interests. The Tactile Fidget Set, priced at US$19, is for the child benefiting from sensory stimulation; the Double Rainbow set (US$39) is ideal for younger children and the Classroom Pack (US$129) is plentiful for many eager hands. With so many add-ons, including sound and recorder cubes (and more to come), Tactbit Cubes can grow with your child. Shipping is free to many worldwide destinations.

It's everything or nothing! Tactbit Cubes must reach its funding goal of US$15,000 by September 19 to move forward into production. "They're so cool!" exclaimed Morgan, a little girl with a sensory processing disorder. "See how they light up!" cried another excited child. Tactbit Cubes have been sampled by parents, children and educators and have been rigorously tested for safe play. The pre-launch campaign garnered several hundred social followers and a collection of encouraging testimonials, along with real-life photos and videos showing the inspiring reactions of kids playing with Tactbit Cubes for the first time. With grassroots support, Tactbit is motivated to reach its goal and eager to see these STEAM Cubes benefitting children everywhere, at home and in the classroom.
