There's no better way to celebrate the upcoming festivities than by lending a helping hand to those who need it. Goodwill Industries of Southern NJ and Philadelphia is encouraging local homeowners to provide gently-used clothing and items for donation this season.

Many homeowners are scouring their possessions and performing end of the year cleanouts to unearth holiday decorations. During this time, Goodwill asks everyone to keep an eye out for gently-used items and consider donating them to a good cause. Goodwill accepts clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, domestic goods, kitchen appliances, electronics, books, toys, sports equipment, vehicles, and much more. The only material possessions that are deemed unacceptable for donations are items that pose a risk to personal safety, as well as articles that are damaged, expired, or otherwise run-down.

No item is too small or too big for donation. Everything homeowners can bear to part with will help improve Goodwill's educational and career services for local residents with disabilities. All donations made to Goodwill Industries of Southern NJ and Philadelphia will be sold in Goodwill retail stores to raise money to fund job training programs that help those faced with disabilities or disadvantages to become employed.

All those who are willing and able to make donations this winter can drop off their gently-used items at the nearest Goodwill donation site. All donations are tax deductible.
