For the first time in the industrial world a quality specialists will serve as the sole accreditation board for 'Value-Added Registrar' G-PMC, LLC

Oxford, MA -- (SBWire) -- 04/17/2012 --The Industrial Leaders Group (ILG) formed in 2003 to improve the productivity, quality and global competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers announced on March 12, 2012 it will serve as the sole accreditation board for ISO certification for G-PMC, LLC (http://www.g-pmc.com). The company made the announcement after completing its nearly three year study of quality certifications being awarded to businesses in the manufacturing sector by registration bodies. According to ILG, the study was initiated back in 2009 when the company formed an independent accreditation arm tailored to the strict conformance of the International Standards Organizations policies and procedures.

Jim Davidson, Business Director for the Industrial Leaders Group said the study has shown a significant number of quality management professionals with an unfavorable opinion on the services received by their registration company. Davidson declined to name individual firms, but did acknowledge ILG has received a number of complaints from managers attending ASQ and SQA meetings indicating to be dissatisfied with the ISO certification process. The study supports an independent survey performed last year by the American Machine Shops Network (AMSN) showing a large portion of machine shop owners disappointed in not getting value added from their registrars for the money investment. Davidson said other complaints were an inconsistency in corrective actions where one year a company may get a few minor corrective actions, and the next year it passes without any non-conformances.

In 2012 the Industrial Leaders Group evaluated over 128 small and mid-sized ISO consulting firms and discovered that the premise of ISO over the decades have been increasingly clouded.
