Questcor is a biopharmaceutical company and its primary product is H.P. Acthar Gel (Repository Corticotropin Injection), an injectable drug that is approved by the U. S. Aetna issued a Clinical Policy Bulletin stating that based on review of medical studies Acthar was "not medically necessary" for certain conditions for which it has been prescribed and as a result Aetna would limit the coverage of H.P. Acthar.

Shares of Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOR) dropped from as high as $51.97 per share on September 7, 2012 to as low as $17.83 per share on September 27, 2012.
