Startup 2009 Invite Interlecta To Speak

Guest of Startup Conference 2009 this year were Interlecta who, along with other companies, spoke about current problems in the global world and some witty solutions to them.

Veliko Turnovo, Veliko Turnovo -- (SBWire) -- 11/27/2009 -- Interlecta was chosen for one of the fifteen companies to present an elevator pitch at the Startup Conference 2009 that took place in the University of Architecture, Building Engineering and Geodesy in the capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia.

Each company had three minutes to present their business and the solutions they offer and Interlecta used theirs to put forward the problem with the language barrier that stands on the way of 4 billion cell phone users and 1 billion mobile internet users. As a big part of the messages sent and websites visited are in a language different from English, Interlecta offers software that translates texts, SMS, email, images and speech.

Guests of the Startup Conference were business angels and venture capitalist as well as directors of leading companies from different business sectors in Bulgaria. Talks on mobile translation business continued even after the elevator pitch and the end of the Conference which since 2007 has gathered more than 2000 stratup companies, investor angels, venture capitalists and students from leading universities in the country.

Interlecta have developed different machine translation solutions for BlackBerry and J2ME platforms, desktop applications for Mozilla and are partnering with some of the leading mobile phone manufacturers and wireless carriers in the world. The company has been pronounced a top innovator at the Mobile World Congress 2008.
