A Las Vegas native - who climbed Mt. Everest - features the city as he reaches the top 50 finalists out of 3000+ applicants for Jauntaroo's 'Chief World Explorer' position.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWire) -- 10/07/2013 --Vacation Matchmaker website Jauntaroo has selected Las Vegas native John Beede as a finalist for a position that many are calling, “the best job in the world.”

Beede, the first person born in Southern Nevada to reach the summit of Mount Everest, has surpassed 3000+ other applicants and is now competing against 50 finalists for a job officially titled, “Chief World Explorer.” The position pays a $100,000 salary plus all-expenses-paid travel for one year. Resident John Beede featured Las Vegas in his second video submission.

“I wanted to show people a side of Vegas they hadn’t seen before,” Beede says, describing his video entry. “So after I grab the viewers’ attention by jumping off the Stratosphere and show some classic craziness on the strip, I take them to Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, and Hoover Dam. It surprises most people when they see that there is more to Las Vegas than the neon.”

If Jauntaroo selects Beede to be their Chief World Explorer, his duties will include making video webisodes about Jauntaroo’s featured destinations, writing about his experiences, completing volunteer and community service work, and connecting with Jauntaroo site users via social media platforms.

His year of travel, beginning January 2014, would include up to 50 destinations including Berlin, Calistoga, Costa Navarino, Denver, Fort Worth, the Maldives, Nassau-Paradise Island, St. Lucia, and Puerto Rico’s San Juan, Ponce and Aguadilla.

Jauntaroo will narrow down to their top 5 candidates on October 21st. Each will participate in live interviews at an undisclosed global location.
