Food Audit Standards Do Not Stop the Horror Stories

Food Audit Standards Do Not Stop the Horror Stories

Westminster, CO -- (SBWire) -- 10/21/2013 --Richard Steir a food scientist reported there are many different audit formats being used within the food industry. These include true standards—those that do not favor any particular group or nation over another—such as the ISO 9001, 22000 and 14001 standards issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These standards do not tell processors exactly what they should do, but instead provide a framework for developing and implementing systems to meet certain ends, namely quality, food safety and environmental stewardship.

In an effort to best capture the grueling and often gruesome process of these food audits, TraceGains wants to hear about “the worst food audit experiences.” According to Gary Nowacki, TraceGains’ CEO, “Telling these spine-chilling stories is cathartic. It allows people at food manufacturers and processors to finally share food audit experiences in a friendly yet anonymous setting. This is the antidote to the audit venom. We encourage and request all food safety and quality professionals to share their stress and nightmare food audit experiences.”

For the next two months, TraceGains will collect food audit horror story submissions and will recognize the top 3 audit horror story submissions with a Kindle Fire HDX 7” tablet.

The deadline for submission is December 18, 2013. Enter at: http://www.tracegains.com/audit-horror-story.html
