2010 Salary Survey for Jobs Across The Creative Industry
Major Players today released its annual salary survey covering the entire scope of jobs across the creative and marketing industries. The much anticipated report shows that while salaries have generally maintained similar levels to 2009, some sectors have seen a rise by as much as 10%.

Account Management & Planning Jobs: Account Executive and Account Manager level jobs are in demand due to a scarcity of talent and lack of grad recruitment during the recession. Above-The-Line (ATL) agencies are looking to bring on board a wider range of skills and experience - candidates across digital, integrated and PR roles are increasingly in demand.
Business Services Jobs: The support market has split into several different sectors and candidates looking for PA, HR, secretarial and admin jobs will need to stay flexible and able work across multi-faceted roles to stay competitive.
Creative & Design Jobs: As we saw last year, companies are increasingly diversifying, with digital roles continuing to integrate across ATL, Integrated, Design and Branding. Those candidates with experience in digital roles will continue to find the most success.
Creative Services Jobs: Marker visualisers and artworkers who can cross over to retouching and design roles will remain in healthy demand. Project managers who can bring a creative flair to their role and production talent that can work across all media are also in short supply.
Digital Jobs: 2010 will see the sector consolidate its place as the favourite of companies looking for accurate ROI and measurable results. The talent pool is growing ever larger but as always, good candidates will always find themselves being scooped up for the best digital jobs.
Marketing Jobs: Despite the turmoil of the economic recession, salary levels across marketing roles have remained fairly level. Incremental growth is starting to drive new hires and we're still seeing skills shortages at senior manager and Board Director level – specifically across digital roles.
PR & Comms Jobs: Consumer PR jobs saw a rise of 10% across all levels, reflecting a desire for agencies to hang on to remaining staff following several rounds of redundancies throughout 2009. Digital PR jobs saw a rise of just 5%, as agencies strive to keep a broad base of expertise in the growing social media sector.
Research, Insight & Analysis Jobs: Clients are increasingly looking for candidates who are able to add value by providing insights into new methods. This was especially prevalent across digital research roles as more agencies moved collection methods online, while in-house teams focused more on web analytics.
Sponsorship, Experiential & Events Jobs: This year, sampling will remain popular as brands continue to want maximum ROI for their efforts but live events jobs will start to re-appear again after a tough economic period that perhaps hindered these types of events being activated.
As 2010 continues, Major Players expects remuneration packages to increase in line with the nation’s confidence in economic recovery, fuelling hopes of an end to the downturn once and for all.
