Live on Bowen Concludes Successful Third Season with Special Guest John Safran

Live On Bowen brought its latest run to a hilarious end this Friday with special guest John Safran in the seventh episode of the third season.

Melbourne, VIC -- (SBWire) -- 12/20/2013 --Australians are world renowned for their sense of humour, as well as their passion for developing the next generation across sport and academia. Those not living in the country might be surprised to know that the Aussie sense of humour is nurtured just as fully, with RMIT University’s own comedy variety show getting a cable slot on Channel 31. Live On Bowen has now successfully closed its third season with a holiday special featuring special guest John Safran.

The John Safran interview on Live on Bowen investigated his career highlights, key challenges, and funniest moments in a charming and insightful look at a successful career that is going to new heights. Safran is a winner of four Australian Film Institute awards as well as having been nominated for two international Rose d’Or awards for his funny and meaningful productions.

The show also featured comedian Sonia Di Iorio and musical guest Infinite as well as a wide variety of holiday season themed shenanigans which even got the studio audience involved. Live on Bowen - Season Three, Episode 07 was aired on December 13th at 8.30pm on Channel 31 and suggested a bright future for the show and a possible fourth season.

A spokesperson for Live on Bowen explained, “The idea that a show made by student community television would still be going as strong after the format change in 2012 from its award winning predecessor seemed unlikely, but then we did it.

The idea that the third season would be as great as previous years with a short turnaround after former host Rob Lloyd left was certainly a challenge, but new host Aaron McCarthy knocked it out of the park as well as producers Riyana Kasmawan and Jenny Bae – who should be proud of the season they put together.

Now we’ve rounded out our amazing third season with John Safran, Sonia Di Iorio and Infinite to get people in the festive spirit and say goodbye to our amazing live audiences, who have given us a great opportunity to entertain over the last few weeks.”
