Pittsburgh, PA -- (SBWire) -- 01/08/2014 --Seegrid, maker of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) was featured in the current issue of Manufacturing Engineering Process Control Automation (MEPCA), a UK publication. The article authored by Thomas R. Cutler, titled, “Flexible AGVs are the Future of Material Handling,” discussed the efficiency of AGVs. According to Cutler, “AGVs have long been considered one of the ways to work more efficiently – but recently there’s been a closer examination of those efficiencies because many traditional AGVs take too long to justify the return on investment. Newer solutions and technologies are now part of the conversation in the material-handling sector.”

Seegrid is quickly on pace to capture significant designed automation solutions to address opportunities and challenges that exist in the materials-handling industry through a straightforward modification of a standard manually driven industrial vehicle, transforming it into an unmanned vision-guided vehicle.

In partnership with Linde Material Handling – Europe’s leading industrial truck manufacturer – Seegrid robotic technology is now connected to the Linde forklift truck technology. Implemented simply and easily without the high up-front time and investment, these new robotic industrial trucks avoid the short-term loss productivity that characterizes the introduction of legacy automation systems.

LogiMAT is the biggest annual intralogistics exhibition in Europe being held between 25 and 27 February 2014. International exhibitors and decision-makers from industry, trade, and the service sectors will be coming together at the new exhibition centre at Stuttgart Airport to find the best products and best practices. The focus will be on innovative products, solutions and systems for procurement, warehouse, production, and distribution logistics. Seegrid will be located at Hall 8, Stand #471.

Seegrid will provide live demonstrations of the GT45 and GBS P50 C at LogiMAT in the Seegrid booth. The GT45 Tow Tractor and Guided by Seegrid Linde P50 C Tow Tractor are state of the art yet simple to use, as they do not require any additional infrastructure, costly expansion or redesign into a facility, or a specialized team of engineers to install, support, or operate the vehicle. The vehicle offers fast and effective deployment within hours instead of weeks, has the ability to change routes quickly and easily, and operates safely with workers and equipment.
