Boca Raton, FL -- (SBWire) -- 01/21/2014 --The Universal Life Church World Headquarters of Florida announced on Facebook Sunday it was joining together with other Christian Churches to support "Week of Prayer For Christian Unity." This Week of Prayer For Christian Unity has been a tradition within the Christian Faith since January of 1908. Christians celebrate the week of prayer from January 18th through January 25th.

What began in a small chapel of a small Franciscan Convent of the Protestant Episcopal Church, on a remote hillside fifty miles from New York City over 100 years ago, has caught the attention of other Christian Churches throughout the world. It has blossomed into a worldwide observance involving many nations and millions of people.

The Most Reverend Michael J. Cauley, President and Presiding Bishop for the Universal Life Church World Headquarters stated in the January 19th, Sunday Newsletter and Bulletin as follows: "Beginning yesterday, January 18th it was the start of a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This is an annual weekly event. This is a very important week for Christians, as nonbelievers point to the diversity of sects within the Christian Faith as a sign of weakness. I on the other hand view the diversity as a sign of strength. Why? Because even though we have differences, we are able to set aside our differences and come together as one for Jesus Christ. We all believe in the one and only Jesus Christ. The only diversity within the Christian Faith is how we choose to celebrate our Christian Faith. So let us remember this week all of our Christian brothers and sisters, let us stand together in unity for our Lord Jesus Christ."
