Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 05/17/2010 -- US hirings touched the highest level in more than a year in March, as number of job openings surged considerably, according to a Labor Department report, confirming a slight recovery in the labor market. Total hirings rose to 4.24 million in March from 4.01 million in February, according to the report. It was the highest since the 4.3 million hirings seen last year in January.

Meanwhile EmploymentCrossing, one of the largest job boards in the world, has managed to create a record of sorts by listing more than 734,275 jobs in its database in a single week! More than 300 research professionals have scoured jobs from thousands of job boards and employer websites and aggregated them in the EmploymentCrossing database.

Barnes adds, “There has been a drastic surge in the number of hirings but no job board seems to post more openings in their site. The main reason behind it is that most of the jobs are present on employer websites and are strewn all over the internet as well as print media. Most the jobs are repeated in the prime job boards. EmploymentCrossing uses a highly trained research staff and technology to track down every job from every employer. The site continuously monitors the websites of every job board and employer website to provide job seekers with quality jobs that match their interests.”

More than 100 hi-tech jobs, mostly in manufacturing and research, are to be created due to the expansion of Kelman, an eco-friendly energy business in Lisburn, which is owned by General Electric. The company specializes in monitoring the performance of electrical transformers. Additionally, the battered construction industry managed to add jobs in April with an increase of 26,000 jobs compared to its previous month.

“Well, the industries are finally adding up jobs. With a highly trained team of researchers who personally screen each and every job posted on EmploymentCrossing’s portals, EmploymentCrossing seeks out, edits, approves, and tracks an elite collection of jobs on an ongoing basis,” Barnes says. “EmploymentCrossing is not for everyone -- we are exclusive and private, and only members have access to our job-opening research.”

Unlike other job boards that simply herd masses of job listings without looking back, EmploymentCrossing ensures quality and accuracy to prevent users from wasting time with outdated or filled jobs. The site’s research staff searches nearly 8,000 job boards and around 250,000 employer websites for jobs every day. Additionally, the number of jobs on the site is expected to receive a major boost in the coming days.
