Former Fortune 500 CFO to Talk to Small Businesses About 2013 Tax Year in Upcoming Google Hangout

Franklin, TN -- (SBWire) -- 02/12/2014 --Today's local businesses across the United States need all of the tax help they can get, and with an upcoming Google Hangout entitled "Local/Small Business 2013 Tax Hangout Q&A," which will be hosted by the Local Business Internet Marketing University, they can get that help. The Local Business Internet Marketing University has invited Greg Lemons, CPA and owner of Padgett Business Services in Brentwood, TN, and a representative from the SBA to discuss common business tax concerns for the 2013 year. The Hangout is scheduled for February 21 at 9:00 A.M. Central Time.

"As a business owner myself, I know that local businesses everywhere often struggle during tax time. Should they go to H&R Block? What about Turbo Tax? When is it time for a professional CPA? They may even struggle knowing what deductions they can take on their tax returns this year versus 2012, and they want to avoid the all-too-common mistakes businesses make on their own tax returns. There are a lot of questions out there during this time of year, and I wanted to provide a forum where today's business owners could get the answers to their questions from a local business tax expert before they start filing those forms," stated Joshua Mackens, Headmaster of the Local Business Internet Marketing University and host of the Hangout.

"When I met Greg, I knew he would be the best person for this Hangout. As a former CFO and Controller of two separate Fortune 500 companies (one of them being Mapco), Greg knows business. He left the corporate world 11 years ago to start his own small business tax firm, where he specializes on helping local businesses. We feel very, very lucky to have Greg with us to guide our local businesses in this 2013 tax year," stated Mr. Mackens.

The Hangout is scheduled for February 21 at 9:00 A.M. Central Time. Business owners can participate at no cost, but they do need to register early here. In addition to discussing common tax concerns for the current tax season, The Hangout will look ahead to what is coming in 2014 tax related that will affect local businesses.

"This is also the time of year to be looking ahead to the 2014 tax year and what it holds for local businesses across the nation. That way local businesses are also prepared for the 2014 tax season when it comes," stated Mr. Mackens. "This Hangout will give them the heads up they need to be proactive about their taxes."

Local businesses can register at the official registration page: "The University's Local Business Tax Session 2013."
