Baker Curb Announces New Sponsor for Nascar Driver Scott Wimmer in Nashville for the #27 Ford Fusion

For The Federated Auto Parts 300 - Wimmer Has Finished The Top-15 In Each Nationwide Start This Season

Altamonte Springs, FL -- (SBWire) -- 06/09/2010 -- Baker Curb Racing is happy to announce that G2 Gemini Custom Apparel will be a primary sponsor on Scott Wimmers’ No. 27 Ford Fusion for Saturday’s Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. The Minnesota-based company provides custom apparel for worldwide customers in several industries, including; fishing, bowling and shooting.

“We can’t wait to see our logo on the hood of Scott’s car and on the track at Nashville Superspeedway,” said G2 Gemini Custom Apparel Executive Vice President Brad Raymond. “Our customers, primarily made up of outdoorsmen, are NASCAR fans and we’re excited to be represented by a premier Nationwide Series team and driver in Scott Wimmer. We look forward to developing a long-term relationship with Baker Curb Racing and being a part of the NASCAR industry.”

Scott Wimmer, one of NASCAR’s most dynamic drivers of the 2010 racing season will be racing the #27 Red Man Moist Snuff/G2 Gemini Ford Fusion at the Federated Auto Parts 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway on June 5th. This will mark Wimmers second race of the 2010 season in the #27 Red Man Moist Snuff/G2 Gemini Ford Fusion for Baker Curb Racing. Driving the car at Talladega, he finished 12th in the 43 car field, where he led at one stage of the race. Despite the fact that he has only competed in limited races this season, Wimmer is still ninth in the series in laps led with forty overall. Wimmer is hoping to bring his past success at Nashville back to the Federated Auto Parts 300.

“I'm really excited about running for Baker Curb at Nashville,” said Scott Wimmer. “Greg Biffle has had strong runs all year long and the team has a lot of momentum going. I was able to run the # 27 at Talladega and had a Top-5 run spoiled when we got caught up in a crash on the last lap. Johnny Sauter was strong in the Red Man Moist Snuff Ford the first time at Nashville and I think we’ll be fast again this weekend. I've done a lot of testing for Richard Childress Racing at Nashville and made a lot of laps around this place, so I'm really comfortable there."

Wimmer’s career at Nashville has been a bright one, in his last five starts at the famed circuit, has accounted for three Top-10 finishes, with one win on March 22, 2008. Wimmer is tied for

the most career top-10 finishes at Nashville Superspeedway with nine and has led 108 total laps in his 12 career starts there.

"I'm really strong on the concrete tracks because I know what I need from the car and I'll be able to give Rick the information that he needs to have a real good car during the race,” continued Wimmer. “I've won the spring race at Nashville before but it would be extra special to win for Baker Curb Racing in their backyard!"

Despite his limited starts this season, Wimmer has earned the praise of racing fans and media across the nation for making the most of each of his starts. Prior to driving the #27 Red Man Moist Snuff/G2 Gemini Ford Fusion, he had a two-race deal racing for the JR Motorsports Team in the #7 Chevy Impala that Danica Patrick began the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series with. At Talladega, his first race in the #27 Red Man Moist Snuff/G2 Gemini Baker Curb Racing Ford Fusion, he started 34th in the 43 car field and began a steady climb to the lead. In the final lap he was running Top-5 and pushing his way back to the front with the help of Joey Lagano from behind when Jamie McMurray spun in front of Wimmer, creating a massive pile up. NASCAR officials had to freeze the field and showed Wimmer coming in a strong but disappointing 12th position in the end. The #27 Baker Curb Racing entry goes into the weekend in 8th position in Owner Points, and looking to keep the momentum going to get back into the Top-5 in points. Wimmer is also signed on for next weekend’s race at Kentucky, which will mark the final race that Red Man Moist Snuff will be allowed to support the strong running team. The signing of G2 Gemini comes at a perfect time as the regulations against tobacco advertising has left the team hard at work to locate another company that is able to take advantage of the strong results and massive media coverage the team and combination of Greg Biffle and Scott Wimmer has been able to garner this season. To date, this has been one of the most visible entities throughout the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. His next race in the #27 Red Man Moist Snuff/G2 Gemimi Baker Curb Racing Ford Fusion will be at the Meijer 300 at the Kentucky Speedway also in June.
