The Great Gala - Inaugural "Illumination & Inspiration" Fundraiser Scheduled

Riverside, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/11/2014 --The evening promises to be filled with gaiety featuring Great Gatsby era music by The Jimmie Dykes Quartet, a 5-star plated dinner, live entertainment, and an interactive raffle of first-class items such as: A 60” Flat-Screen Television, Round-Trip Airline Tickets, at least one Gift Card Package worth $1,000, A Gift Basket of “Natlie’s Favorite Things” valued at approximately $1000. Items for the gift basket include: a designer handbag, a tablet Reader, a spa gift card, jewelry, a Disneyland “Stay and Play” vacation package, and other items. We anticipate that approximately 250 guests will attend.

In addition to the festive production we are planning for our guests, the event will also provide a forum for the trustees and advisory board members to unveil our signature initiatives:

1.“CORSICA”: THE COLE-REAGINS REGISTRY OF SINONASAL CANCER! The “CORSICA” project has been proposed by a research team at Stanford University School of Medicine and will be made possible in part, by a Natlie A. Cole-Reagins Education and Cancer Research Foundation funding pledge. The Stanford medical team will be on hand to announce “CORSICA”.

2.“ECLIPSE”: EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACY PROJECT for STUDENT ENRICHMENT. The campaign includes grant funding for libraries of the schools Natlie attended as a child, grant funding for local community libraries, and increased funding for the Riverside Education Enrichment Foundation (REEF). Nationally recognized and local educational leaders will be on hand to introduce the “ECLIPSE” project initiative.

3.The Osborne Head and Neck Institute, housed at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA and the Natlie A. Cole-Reagins Education and Cancer Research Foundation Partnership. Dr. Ryan Osborne and his team of leading research physicians will serve as expert clinical support for the foundation. Grant funds provided by the Natlie A. Cole-Reagins Education and Cancer Research Foundation will provide early treatment options and post-diagnosis support for underprivileged Osborne Head and Neck Institute patients. Dr. Osborne’s team will be on hand during the gala to facilitate our understanding of Sino Nasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma (SNUC) and its impact.

In Natlie’s honor and to promote her legacy of teaching, learning, and excellence, family, friends, and colleagues united to become founders and trustees of the Natlie A. Cole-Reagins Education and Cancer Research Foundation. The organization is non-profit and tax exempt. The core of our mission is dedicated to continuing Natlie’s life-long work in early childhood literacy and actively raising awareness and supporting the research of Sino Nasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma (SNUC) and its effects. Natlie’s sons and father serve as honorary foundation board members.

The formation of a solid strategic plan warranted expert advisement, so the trustees sought out key stakeholders from the community to serve as advisory board members. A distinguished group of 11 was seated mid-year 2013.

About Us
Since the foundation’s inception in 2009, we have hosted a variety of fundraisers and awarded numerous grants to the Riverside Education Enrichment Foundation (REEF). Through REEF, the thousands of dollars we’ve raised have been returned to the community and invested in classrooms, teachers, and students throughout the Riverside area.
