The event will take place March 13 from 8 AM to 4:30 PM in Erma Ora Byrd Hall at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
About Peggy Burkhardt
Dr. Burkhardt currently serves as the President of AHNA, a nursing specialty organization whose focus is on person-centered holistic care. She is currently an Associate Professor Emerita at the West Virginia University School of Nursing, Charleston Division. As a nursing educator she has taught BSN, MSN and Doctoral nursing students and has been a holistic nurse for over 25 years.
Her nursing credentials include a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University, a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Rochester, a Master’s of Arts in Theology from the University of Dayton and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Transcultural Nursing from the University of Miami. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on topics including spirituality and health, ethics, holistic nursing, spiritual and healing as well as earth health and human health. In addition, she has co-authored two books, Ethics & Issues in Contemporary Nursing and Spirituality: Living Our Connectedness.
