The Problems with Omega-3 Fatty Acid Supplements Today

Most people hear fat and assume obesity and its epidemic. In actuality, some fat is healthy and necessary despite the hype and feelings towards it. One of most healthy of the fats is found in nature and in particular oily fish such as salmon.

Newark, DE -- (SBWire) -- 03/12/2014 --The omega-3 fat contains DHA and EPA, two important fatty acids that promote brain health, cardiovascular health, and healthy skin among other benefits. Most people do not get enough omega-3 fats in their diet.

This is mainly because the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, cold water fish and seafood, do not come cheap. Plant sources such as flaxseeds and walnuts are not rich DHA and EPA, but supply a different fatty acid known as ALA.

“The best sources of omega-3’s are cold water fish and seafood such as krill and salmon. This is why so many turn to a supplement containing omega-3’s,” said Vitamins and Health Supplements owner David Kamau.

To get the maximum amount of omega-3 fatty acids recommended, the average person would need to consume oily fish or other seafood at almost each meal of the day several times a week. The sheer expense would be more than the average person can realistically afford. "Forget farm-raised fish. It may be cheaper, but it does not offer the same benefits," David adds.

Another problem that many do not realize is that even some the top omega-3 supplements often contain less omega-3 than necessary for optimum health.

Even while you may get a good quality omega-3 supplement, there may still a problem. A significant of the active ingredients in these krill and fish oil supplements is quickly broken down in the stomach. This makes the value even more worthless and useless. This means people are pouring their money into something ineffective. Fortunately, there is a practical solution in a new supplement that resolves this issue.

Some companies also put more EPA than DHA in the supplements because EPA is cheaper. DHA is the more effective of the two. This is why this new supplement contains more DHA than EPA.

Biotrust is a fairly new company whose strength is in addressing some of the biggest weakness in the supplements on the market. Their team of chemists and developers has come out with a new omega-3 supplement that also has krill oil.

Krill are small shrimp-like creatures. Large baleen whales feed on them almost exclusively, and they are found in colder waters just like the salmon. These krill are rich in omega-3.

“The newest supplement from Biotrust, the Biotrust OmegaKrill 5X, has been specially formulated with krill oil and a higher concentration of DHA than the leading competitor. This makes for a much more effective product that is not broken down in the stomach but absorbed in the intestines for maximum benefit,” said Kamau.

Kamau reviews supplements on his website. Some are associated with affiliate marketing, but his reviews appear to be objective.

He recently completed a review for the Biotrust OmegaKrill 5X for his visitors.

“I want to be completely sure that this is a product I will endorse. I am very careful about what goes on my site. I have done several reviews that have not met my quality standards and are not featured,” said Kamau.

Meanwhile, site visitors are encouraged to visit other pages of his site to educate themselves about health products.
