Minneapolis, MN -- (SBWire) -- 03/13/2014 --Teeny Bee is a locally owned and operated, one-of-a-kind baby and kids boutique, where babies and families are welcomed and encouraged to touch and try everything. The store offers clothing, toys, books, and specialty items for children ages 0-3 years, with each item hand picked and time tested. More than just a store, they're a community where families and babies can come and hang out, get inspired and connect with each other.

Teeny Bee has been hosting a free, open baby play group on Wednesday mornings since they opened. It's a valuable place for parents to gather, have a cup of coffee and relate to other parents in a space where they know their kids will be safe and happy. Teeny Bee has developed a community of rotating regular moms, babies, toddlers, grandparents, and other family members.

The plan for the Community Room is to have it scheduled with free, Teeny Bee sponsored activities half of the time and the other half have it available to outside groups to use for free. Teeny Bee activities would include Music Classes, Art Classes, separate Play Group for infants and toddlers, and Baby Yoga. They have also connected with several childbirth and parenting experts including doulas, lactation consultants and behavioral therapists who are interested in offering classes as well.

Costs for the renovation are greatly reduced due to the donation of part of the labor by friends and family - the same friends and family that remodeled the empty space to make the store as beautiful as it is today. Teeny Bee is looking for help to cover the costs of paint and construction supplies ($1000) and flooring ($4000 including labor, which they are not able to receive for free). If they are able to raise more than the $5000 goal, the extra funds will go to upgraded equipment (chalkboard paint would be fun for one wall!), furniture (couches, comfy chairs, and washable rugs would make the space more inviting), and other finishing touches.

This project will only be funded if at least$5,000 is pledged by Thu, Mar 27 2014 3:31 AM +05:30.
