New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 03/19/2014 --Tony-nominee and Obie and Theatre World Award winner Adam Pascal, has created some of the most memorable roles in recent Broadway history. He shot to stardom for originating the role of Roger in the Broadway blockbuster “Rent," as well as the London production, and starred in the film version. On March 29 he debuts in the acclaimed Broadway @ The Broad Stage series, where he joins pianist and host Seth Rudetsky for an unforgettable evening of conversation and song. He also originated the role of Radames in Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida,” and was featured as the Emcee in the critically acclaimed revival of “Cabaret” directed by Sam Mendes. Other of Pascal’s recent performances include the role of Freddie in “Chess” at the Royal Albert Hall in London, alongside both Idina Menzel and Josh Groban. This performance was recorded for PBS’ Great Performances series and has been released on DVD. He also reprised his starring role in the 2009 Broadway Tour of “Rent.” His film work, in addition to the screen version of “Rent,” includes “SLC Punk!,” “School of Rock” and the movie musical “Temptation.” He has also released two solo rock albums, “Model Prisoner” and “Civilian” for Sh-K-Boom Records.

For the Broadway at The Broad Stage series, Adam will perform classic Broadway songs old and new, including those by Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, and Jonathan Larson, and also classic rock songs that have influenced him including hits by The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John and Pink Floyd. Seth Rudetsky is the afternoon Broadway host on Sirius XM satellite radio. As a musician, he has played piano for over a dozen Broadway shows including “Ragtime,” “Les Miserables,” and “Phantom of the Opera.” He was also the Artistic Producer and Music Director for the first five annual Actors Fund Fall Concerts, which included “Dreamgirls” with Audra McDonald (recorded on Nonesuch Records) and “Hair” with Jennifer Hudson (recorded on Ghostlight Records, Grammy nomination). As a comic he was awarded “Funniest Gay Male in NY” at Stand-Up NY and is a three-time Emmy nominee as a writer for “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” As an actor, he made his Broadway debut in “The Ritz” directed by Joe Mantello, and has appeared on television on “Law and Order C.I.” and All My Children,” “Bunheads,” and as himself on NBC TV’s “Smash.” As an author, he wrote the books “The Q Guide to Broadway,” “Broadway Nights,” and just released his new novel “My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan” on Random House, and as an audio book on audible.com featuring “Modern Family’s” Jesse Tyler Ferguson, “SNL’s” Ana Gasteyer, “Smash’s” Megan Hilty among others, and writes a weekly column on Playbill.com. This Broadway concert series was inaugurated in 2011 by Mark Cortale at The Art House in Provincetown featuring Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host.
