Business Women's Mega Mixer OC Honors Local Business Women

The Second Annual Business Women’s Mega Mixer (BWMM) Orange County will celebrate Women’s History Month by bringing together women’s organizations across Southern California to recognize the achievements of women in business.

Carlsbad, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/24/2014 --On March 27, local business women will gather at the DoubleTree OC Airport in Santa Ana for this annual networking event showcasing female entrepreneurs, women’s business organizations and clubs. Business Women’s Mega Mixer founder Michelle Bergquist says, “It’s pure fun, celebration and networking to support women in business and to recognize how far we’ve come as career women and entrepreneurs!”

Each year, the Business Women’s Mega Mixer contributes a portion of their receipts to an organization that supports and celebrates the accomplishments of women. Since 2010, BWMM has donated over $30,000 to organizations that serve women in the areas of education, workforce preparedness, and transition services.

This year, the beneficiary organization will be the National Women Veterans Association. Founded in San Diego by Tara Jones, a US Navy Veteran, this organization provides resources and referrals to women veterans to help them and their family’s successful transition to civilian life. In addition to the donation, the event planners are offering free admission to the first 100 women veterans who register.

According to Bergquist, “We chose the National Women’s Veterans Association because this organization represents the true spirit of Women’s History Month, which is to recognize the accomplishments of women and the sacrifices they have made throughout history. From the American Revolution to the War on Terror, women veterans have been unsung heroes. Through our donation to the National Women’s Veterans Association, we are giving back to those who have already given so much.”

In addition to making a donation to this worthy organization, Business Women’s Mega Mixer will recognize five amazing women with a Women Making History award. Each award will recognize the recipients’ accomplishment in one of the following areas: Entrepreneurship, Business Leadership, Innovation, Heroism and Diversity.
