Minneapolis, MN -- (SBWire) -- 03/26/2014 --Meg Hamann is an animator and a maker of things. In 2011, she graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Animation. While most animators generally create things purely visually, creating things physically has always been a large part of Meg’s artistic practice, both in animation and beyond. Meg loves to sew, bead, knit, and build costumes. She also focuses heavily on antler dreamcatchers, necklaces, and other objects created using wood and antlers.

Meg’s current goal is to open her own Etsy store, The Freezing Squirrel, to sell her hand-made art and dreamcatchers, and build it up and expand her client base to the point where it becomes her full time job.

Meg draws inspiration from nature, from her travels, and from her daily experiences. She has always loved hunting and fishing with her dad and hiking and camping with her mom. In the winter, she loves being outside. She absolutely loves the cold.

Up until now, Meg has been creating her art slowly and with the supplies that she can find as she acquires them, but in order to make this Etsy store a larger part of her life, she needs to acquire supplies faster, which is what most of the Kickstarter money would go to should she achieve her goal. Additionally, Meg would like to travel to Alaska to gather more inspiration for her art. This would also help Meg to support local tradesmen by buying materials directly from them, and allow her to learn their stories and the stories behind the materials she is using. Meg would also like to expand her tool collection, to be able to experiment with new processes, and to continue to improve her practices.

This project will only be funded if at least$8,000 is pledged by Fri, Apr 18 2014 12:27 AM +05:30.
