Scytec Makes Mobile Apps Available for DataXchange Process Control System

Scytec has recently released updated versions of the mobile apps for the popular DataXchange Process Control System. The DataXchange manufacturing data collection system is a Cloud or On-Premise solution providing real-time access to critical manufacturing data.

Greenwood Village, CO -- (SBWire) -- 04/02/2014 --Manufacturers can now benefit from updated mobile apps that are available for the Scytec DataXchange Process Control System for iPads, iPhones and Android devices. The apps enable the stakeholders to view the equipment status in real time as well as generate an array of historical charts. The Scytec system can collect from Ethernet or RS-232 based devices, tracking multiple types of cycle time concurrently providing an unprecedented approach at analyzing shop floor activity.

“The iPad and iPhone apps are there on the Apple App store. You can click the App Store link or scan the QR code to go to the App Store for purchasing and downloading the app. The Android apps are available on Google Play. The current status of the equipment updates automatically once a minute providing accurate real-time facts to manage by. The timeline and summary charts show the historical status of the selected equipment,” commented a senior executive with the company.

The system incorporates a user configurable dashboard that displays information, updating in real time. The views can be configured allowing the dashboard to not only be used for visual manufacturing on the shop floor, but as a tool for management, maintenance and quality assurance as well. There is no limit on the number of computers, phones, or tablets that the software runs on. There is full support for proxy servers and an unlimited number of data collection stations.

The DataXchange application utilizes the latest technologies such as .NET, REST web services and Windows Presentation Foundation. The executive added, “The system is designed to evolve with the industry and integrate with other systems such as ERP. Using the Cloud version customers do not need to purchase web servers or maintain databases. The system is designed for multiple facilities across time zones and supports multiple languages based on the user login.”

Licensing of DataXchange is done through software eliminating any need to manage hardware keys and drivers for the hardware dongle. An administrator can move licensing between any of the pieces of equipment, even if it is located in another facility. There are no restrictions on the number of people running reports at any time. The only criteria of licensing is the number of equipment and what the equipment can collect.
