Pittsburgh, PA -- (SBWire) -- 04/07/2014 --Seegrid, maker of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is exhibiting at CeMat 2014 to meet global demand of robotic industrial trucks. Seegrid will be exhibiting at Hall 27, Booth H12. CeMAT 2014 runs from May 19 to May 23, 2014, in Hannover, Germany.

Peter Bak, the European Representative for Seegrid noted, “There is a trend in European Manufacturing towards ‘forklift free’ manufacturing sites. The advantages are attracting European manufacturing companies for the same reasons in North America. Seegrid AGVs improve warehouse safety. Safety is regarded to be an issue with forklift travel. Using route trains will lower the amount of traffic in a site resulting in increased safety. Seegrid trucks decrease timed delivery of goods to the production line via route trains. The trucks add efficiency and reliability.”

Dori Kozak, Seegrid’s Marketing Specialist explained, “Seegrid flexible AGVs are simple to train and deploy by workers in the facility, are very affordable, and adapt easily to changes in a facility layout or operation. This means Seegrid flexible AGVs are distinctly different than traditional AGV systems which are known to be extremely capital intensive. The traditional AGVs are expensive because they require complex installations with specialized engineering, and are not easily adaptable to changes in a facility’s environment as they require some sort of infrastructure with wire, tape, laser targets or magnets.”

CeMAT intralogistics trade fair will feature a significant increase in the number of exhibitors from abroad. The fair is expected to attract more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 nations and occupy more than 1,291,600 square feet of exhibition space.
