I guess the first telltale sign was when I was seven or eight and I would try to write extensions to the final chapters of books that I’d read because I didn’t want them to end. Then when I was about twelve or thirteen, I came up with an idea for a story where five friends get washed up on the shore of an island after a freak storm separates them from their families while on a boating trip. There were talking animals in it and the story didn’t get very far! But it established a sort of groundwork for what evolved to become Aegis Rising.
