Myrtle Beach, SC -- (SBWire) -- 06/25/2014 --This week, the Prescott Support Company accepted its third CN-235 (N506KM) aircraft. The rugged and dependable CASA joins Prescott’s existing fleet, and according to Don Terrill, a member of the Company’s senior management team, “it represents an important milestone as we continue to build our reputation and capability to provide reliable and right-sized solutions to both our U.S. and international customers”.

The CN-235 is a medium-range, twin-engine, transport airplane jointly developed by Construcciones Aeronauticas SA (CASA) and Indonesian Aerospace (IPTN). First taking to the skies in November 1983, the CASA CN-235 entered commercial operations in March 1988 as a regional airliner and transport aircraft. Since then, the airplane has been a huge success in both military and cargo transport markets earning its reputation for mission versatility and operational reliability while working across a full range of environments with minimal support and at low operating costs. There are over two hundred and thirty CN-235 aircraft currently in service worldwide.

Prescott operates the CN-235 under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulation Part 135. When configured as a dedicated freighter, the aircraft is certificated to carry 7,500 pounds of cargo while cruising at speeds over 286 miles per hour. Additionally, the Spanish-built CN-235 is engineered with a ‘quick-change’ interior allowing the aircraft to be quickly transitioned to carry thirty passengers as a regional airliner.

The Prescott Support Company is a U.S. FAA certificated, Part 121 Supplemental Carrier and a global provider of tailored passenger and cargo transportation services. The company specializes in the movement of time-critical, high-value and out-sized cargo currently operating the Lockheed L100-30 Hercules and twin turboprop CASA CN-235 aircraft while serving commercial clients and Fortune 500 companies, state and federal government agencies, as well as select freight forwarders and international relief organizations.
