This is the true story of 4 preacher’s kids who grew up playing in tent revivals & left it behind to tour with the Rolling Stones & Stevie Wonder on their 1972 STP tour.

Seattle, WA -- (SBWire) -- 07/10/2014 --The Sons of Thunder is a real life-story of a Gospel/Pop/R&B group made up of 4 teenage preacher’s kids who grew up playing music in Pentecostal tent revivals throughout the U.S. but chose to leave it all behind when they were offered the opportunity to go on tour with the Rolling Stones & Stevie Wonder on their notorious 1972 S.T.P. tour. They were 16, 16, 18 & 19.

On the journey, groupies, record execs and tour suppliers offered them drugs and alcohol to get them to join the revolution. Their talent had opened a path into the exciting and dangerous world of rock & roll where excess was the rule of the day. They left a lifetime of religious upbringing in a cab at Chicago O'Hare, only to exit the backseat of a limousine 4 hours later inside the County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas to the likes of, Truman Capote, Annie Leibowitz, Ian Stewart, Andy Warhol, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Liza Minelli, Ahmet Ertegun, Mick & Bianca Jagger, Dick Cavett, Tina Turner, Keith Richards, Stevie Wonder and Lee Radziwill (Jackie O's baby sister), among many others. After the tour, successful American comedian/actor and preacher’s son Sam Kinison also joined the group for a season before his career skyrocketed.

Now, 40 years later, they are coming together to reclaim and redeem their destiny, dreams, and all of the glorious history, to celebrate, find closure, and share their story with the world. So, they have created the Sons of Thunder - Life Project.

There are three primary objectives behind “Sons of Thunder, A Life Project”
- Battling cancer
- Television Series Pilot-Script
- Music Reunion Project

The funding goal for this project has been set at $50,000, knowing the scope this 3 part project will encompass. The team has already begun writing new music, and developing their video presentations. The pilot script is over 95% complete and they have recently signed with a Nashville based management firm. They have also been in preliminary talks with television producers in Los Angeles, and have more meetings scheduled. The buzz around this project is huge. Every dollar will go toward the development of the “Sons of Thunder, A Life Project”
