New Method for Teaching Math to Visual Learners Now Available

A group of math educators has devised a new method for teaching math to learners who learn best through visual stimuli, it is announced today.

New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 08/20/2014 --The creators of Visual65 recognized that a significant number of students struggled with Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations because they were not able to visualize the concepts, and the new website is their response to that discovery.

It is estimated that 65 percent of the population are visual learners. When Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations are introduced in school however, the teaching method relies on students learning abstract concepts that have no meaning in their life experience.

Visual65 concludes therefore that the traditional teaching method Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations in particular, is largely ineffective.

“To effectively teach visual learners, you need to take a different approach, rather than to provide them with books and worksheets,” says Ed, one of the founders of Visual65. “We can use modern technology to create teaching methods that can have a great impact on students and help them in learning and understanding Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations in a much better way.”

To solve the problem of teaching visual learners, Visual65 is working with visual artists to translate classic Pre-algebra and Algebraic concepts to a 3D enhanced experience.

About Visual65
Visual65 will introduce Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations through stories. The students pick a theme that is interesting to them. The themes are Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Cars and Trucks, Dogs and Cats, Knights and Lions and Tigers.

Using stories based on a theme that interests the student will give the student a way to associate math operations with familiar and interesting situations.

46 states have signed on to implement Common Core Standards which requires 6th grade students to master the mathematical concepts of pre-algebra including the operations involving positive and negative integers - further reason that there is a real need to teach Pre-algebra operations with Positive and Negative Integers and One and Two Step Algebraic equations effectively.
