Springfield, IL -- (SBWire) -- 09/17/2014 --State Appellate Defender is now implementing Legal Files Case Management System. The State of Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender has chosen to implement the Legal Files Case Management System, licensing the software application for 250 users at the agency, the software company announced today.

Legal Files Software, Inc. successfully completed a proof-of-concept project for the Office earlier this year.

“Our agency has been using the same antiquated case management system for over 20 years,” explained Susan R. Carr, Director of Support Services for the Office of the State Appellate Defender. “We are excited about upgrading to Legal Files and expect that it will increase our efficiency and provide for a more cost-effective case management system.”

The principal function of the Office of the State Appellate Defender is to represent indigent persons on appeal when appointed to do so by an Illinois court. To provide for this legal representation, the State Appellate Defender has district offices in each of the five appellate court districts of Illinois (Chicago, Elgin, Ottawa, Springfield and Mt. Vernon). Legal Files will be implemented in all five districts.

An electronic legal case management system, Legal Files is designed to work seamlessly in government agencies, corporate and university legal departments, leading law firms, insurance companies and legal aid organizations. Every day thousands of users across many industries and around the world rely on Legal Files to store case information and track office workflow.
