Italy and miami Strengthen their alliance with a full week of cultural activities to celebrate the Senate of Florida Resolution 'October - Italian and Italian American Heritage Month in Florida'.

Miami, FL -- (SBWire) -- 09/30/2014 --For one week the longstanding friendship between Italy and Miami will be celebrated by a dynamic, rich, and multifaceted activation. A series of cultural and artistic events will bring new energy to the heart of Miami under the title of ITALY-MIAMI: A FRIENDSHIP IN ART.

To warm up for the upcoming yearly appointment of Art Basel Miami, Ilaria Niccolini Production partners with the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, and with the City of Miami to create an impactful contribution which will bring two leading Italian graffiti artists to the Wynwood scene.

Ozmo and Dario Ballantini will perform live for a full week in two highly recognizable areas of the Wynwood Distric: Ozmo will work on the West side of the Roy Gallery building on 29th street, while Dario Ballantini will be at work on the entrance wall of the Metropolitan International School of Miami, which will also serve as the venue for the cocktail reception and special screening on October 8th at 7.30 pm (open to the public).

Thanks to a partnership with the Business Improvement District in Wynwood (BID), a series of appointments will fill the agenda for the entire week of activities starting with the official institutional opening on October 8th at 10 am (open to Media and public) at the BID Office. This will be followed by a Breakfast-in- Art at the Mega Shoes store at 11 am. A special Interview-with-the-artists will be conducted by three Miami schools during the live performance in Wynwood, coordinated by the Education Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Miami and by the ODLI institution.

‘We particularly liked the idea of linking the Miami international school community with a prestigious cultural event that strengthens the alliance between Italy and the city of Miami’ declares the Consul General of Italy Mr. Adolfo Barattolo, who is personally supporting the initiative and the coordination of all activities.

Our group has been producing prestigious exhibitions and fair participations in Miami since 2007, we grew with Miami Basel year after year, bringing the results of such activities into our international appointments throughout the US and Europe. For this event in October we felt it was time for us to give back to the city with a project that will leave its mark on the walls of its real heart for years. The agenda is enriched with multiple appointments which will involve: Italian movie screening with the Italian Film Festival; the presentation of the Troisi International Award concept (a prestigious and emotional tribute to the famous Italian actor and comedian Massimo Troisi who passed away 20 years ago) in collaboration with Troisi Film Festival and MIA press; the annual appointment with the Gran Fondo Italia cycling event; a panel discussion on death penalty promoted by the Consul General of Italy with FIU; a full day of activities at the Coral Gables Museum coordinated with ODLI Miami, IIPA, and Societa’ Dante Alighieri Miami, that will involve the community and several schools of the city; the monthly Wynwood Art Walk on October 11th which will serve as the closing event of the week.

From October 7th to October 11th ITALY-MIAMI: A FRIENDSHIP IN ART will bring the flavor and excitement of Contemporary Italian Culture to the vibrant core of Miami, celebrating October - Italian and Italian American Heritage Month (Resolution of the Senate of Florida dated May 1st 2014) and leading up to Art Basel Miami 2014.
