London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 10/03/2014 --Jana Ruzickova, a boutique designer from the Czech Republic, has a rather interesting doll collection, one that is not only unique but also supports a good cause.

They’re called Crazy Dolls and are funny-looking figures made by hand in a sheltered workshop supervised by Ruzickova. The workers are women in need, mostly single mothers, who are struggling to support their families. Proceeds from the sale of the dolls will help them get back on their feet.

“In many cases, they are divorced and taking care of their children with very little money,” said Ruzickova. “Many of them are living out on the street and not receiving any type of support from their ex-husbands. Selling the Crazy Dolls will go a long way in helping them get back to a normal life.”

In addition to the dolls, the workshop employees are also making custom jewelry.

Ruzickova is trying to raise some start-up capital for this project. She figures about $12,500 is necessary for materials and shipping. Thus far, nearly one-quarter of the goal has been reached.

“We are attempting to reach compassionate people all over the world,” she said. “If you support this project, you are not only providing a small income for mothers in need, but giving them hope for a better life.”

Donations of any amount are welcome. For a $40 contribution, backers will receive a randomly-chosen Crazy Doll, with delivery guaranteed before Christmas. A $60 pledge fetches the doll of your choice.

For $240, contributors will receive five Crazy Dolls of their choice.

“We really want to continue this program but we can’t do it without outside support,” Ruzickova said. “Once we get the project rolling, we’ll be able to employ 10 or more women full-time for a year.

“If you can’t afford to make a donation, please spread the word about what we’re doing to your friends and family. Every dollar counts.”
