Madison, WI -- (SBWire) -- 10/03/2014 --Over half a million people in America struggle with Homelessness every day and Woven Journey wants to reach out to them and cultivate their abilities by enabling them to support themselves through the production and packaging of greeting cards.

This is achieved through a group effort whereby those in the greatest need, most notably the homeless, can earn an income producing greeting cards which are sold in retail stores or directly through non-profit organizations as part of an ongoing fundraising program. A portion of sales proceeds go directly to organizations at the local level where these cards are sold. For example, a card sold in Madison, Wisconsin, USA will benefit an organization in Madison. A card sold in Perth, West Australia will benefit an organization in Perth.

Woven Journey coordinates with the organizations they support to identify individuals in need who would be a good fit for working with their greeting cards. The result is a revenue-generating opportunity for non-profit organizations as well as the people they serve.

Crowdfunding is sought to allow Woven Journey to ramp up production for the Christmas season through an expanded catalog of Christmas card offerings that many different organizations can sell to the public- not just those serving the homeless. Their immediate goal is to develop and produce 5,000 cards which will meet the fundraising demand for the shelters they currently work with and the retail stores that support them.

Woven Journey’s long-term goal is to develop other unique card series that will provide similar awareness and financial opportunity for causes such as single mothers, physical abuse victims, human trafficking, and those struggling with post-prison release.

This crowdfunding campaign ends on October 19, 2014.
