The chain owned by NS Stations Retailbedrijf BV is called Kiosk. The Kiosk outlets can be found at all the major train stations in the Netherlands as NS Stations Retailbedrijf BV is part of the national train company. In 2013 the value of the Kiosk sales were under pressure as amid the economic uncertainty, consumers were facing impacted sales at train station kiosks. This was not the only reason Kiosk did not achieve growth despite an increase in the number of outlets. Another major reason was the fact that in 2013 four major train stations, the central stations of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht, were in the process of being renovated. This meant that many Kiosk outlets at these large stations were moved to temporary locations which of course meant less traffic and lower sales.
