Threads of Life Is a 'Comfort Book' That Provides Insight and Hope

Redlands, CA -- (SBWire) -- 10/15/2014 --Jay Tillitt, an Episcopal priest in Redlands, Calif., has a special book he’d like to share with as many people as possible.

The book, Threads of Life: A Collection, is special for several reasons. It was written by Tillitt’s late mother, Sylvia Payne Tillitt. Threads of Life offers a unique view in all aspects of living through poetry, paintings and photography.

Tillitt calls it a “comfort book” that brings out the simplicity, beauty and grace of life.

“Comfort can be derived from many sources, including family, friends and a person's faith,” said Tillitt, whose passion is providing comfort to the seniors in his community, especially those facing end of life. “But at some point, the person is alone and reflects upon his or her life, and impending life decisions and mortality. During these quiet moments, having a source to assist in this personal reflection can lead to healing and resolution.”

Tillitt holds the manuscript and the copyright to his mother’s book but lacks the financial means to have it printed. His ambition and dream to publish this work and distribute it to thousands of people. He is planning to release Threads of Life as a full-color paperback.

In order to do that, he’ll need about $42,000 for printing, storage, shipping, publicity and e-book distribution. To generate this capital, he has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be viewed at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/comfort-care-through-poetry

Donations of any amount are welcome. Those contributing $25-100 will receive discounts on the purchase price of the book. For $150, you can receive a free copy of the book.

“Providing comfort, both spiritually and emotionally, centered on the health and well-being of individuals and their families, has been an intricate part of my career as a priest,” said Tillitt. “This book has the potential to make a big impact on many people who could use some spiritual guidance.”
