Portland, OR -- (SBWire) -- 10/21/2014 --A new government report shows that Americans spend more money on natural health alternatives than on prescription drugs. Experts say the trend toward more natural treatments has been going on for several years.

According to the survey conducted by the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), Americans spend an estimated $34 billion every year for alternative medicines such as chiropractic visits and herbal supplements.

“The increased demand for natural supplements tells us that people are just looking for all-natural and safe remedies for the conditions they are suffering from,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.

“Drugs have been a popular treatment for an extensive range of medical conditions, however, many patients are still unsatisfied with the results they are getting from using the treatment option. This has encouraged many to use natural medicine instead,” added O’Sullivan.

People take supplements for different reasons and since they suffer from a variety of medical conditions, their preference in choosing supplements also differ. Health experts suggest that patients should only buy supplements based on their particular needs.
