Paul's Tavern to Host the Finals of the JSJBF's Blues Play-Offs

Lake Como, NJ -- (SBWire) -- 10/21/2014 --This October has witnessed the occurrence of many Belmar events, from Oktoberfest to an on-going blues competition. The home to many of the happenings over the past month has been the Sound Garden at Paul’s Tavern. Sure to be the biggest event of the month, Paul’s Tavern is set to host the finals of the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation’s blues playoffs. With the two semi-finals in the books, the venue is ready to kick-off the finals on October 25th.

The semi-final rounds, which took place on October 11th and 18th, featured ten bands battling it out to represent New Jersey at the International Blues Challenge. The winning band will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Memphis for the competition from the JSJBF. Among those moving on to the finals are The Bob DelRosso Band, The Johnny Childs Band, and The Shari Pine Band. The competition will be judged by Tom Baldino, the Vice President of the JSJBF, Janet Goodwin, and Jon Barone.

The finals start at 8pm on October 25th and there will be a $15 charge for those attending the finals. With a maximum capacity of 750 people, blues fans should get their early to ensure they get in as this is sure to be a big event. Along with flying out a band to the International Blues Challenge, they will also be sending a CD to compete for the “Best Self-Produced CD Award.” This year’s entry chosen by the listening committee is Blue Jay Slim & The Tone Blasters’ album “Leaving The Cold Behind.”
