Boston, MA -- (SBWire) -- 10/31/2014 --This September, New Grounds Food launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund packaging to clothe their naked CoffeeBars. The original $10,000 goal was fully funded within fifteen hours, and their first $25,000 stretch goal was funded within two weeks. Currently, the project is supported by over 1000 backers and has raised over $38,000.

With a full shot of espresso, vegan chocolate chips, and cinnamon, the CoffeeBar was artfully crafted to provide a spill-proof and all-natural boost of energy. The CoffeeBar, which is vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free, contains simple ingredients that you would find in a pantry. The bars are created with fair-trade ingredients that are made in the USA.

With under a week to go, the New Grounds Food team is working towards their second stretch goal of creating more flavors. Currently, the Mocha Latte CoffeeBar is the only flavor available. By reaching their second stretch goal of $75,000, New Grounds Food will use their funding to create other deliciously innovative flavors like Caramel Macchiato and Peppermint Mocha. By reaching their first stretch goal, the start-up will be able to source their espresso beans directly from coffee-farming families in need of support.

This Kickstarter campaign ends in six days, on Wednesday, November 6, 2014.

About New Grounds Food: New Grounds Food is a healthy food company that has set on the mission to provide people with more nutritious ways of staying energized through the day. New Grounds Food began with a simple question: “Why can’t we eat our coffee?” Johnny Fayad and Ali Kothari, then freshmen business students, were tired of waking up for their 8 AM financial accounting course without having time for breakfast and, more importantly, their coffee. New Grounds Food has since been featured on CNBC, USA Today, the Boston Magazine, and the Boston Globe.
