Launch of Album "Sound of the Silents" by Erie Chamber Orchestra or the ECO

Erie, PA -- (SBWire) -- 11/06/2014 --Erie Chamber Orchestra or the ECO releases the album “Sound of the Silents”. The album is a collection of music from Zamecnik coupled with a thousand other songs donated a decade ago by various composers to the founding conductor of ECO, Bruce Morton Wright.

Some of the tracks in the album are Egyptia, Men of Sparta, Treacherous Knave, The Furious Mob, Queer Antics, Air Flight, Disturbance, The Evil Plotter, Waterfall, Stealthy Escape, Battle music and Defense of Honor.

Music director Mathew Kraemer commented, “This music truly one-of-a-kind in that it exists in the form that it is; we have all of the parts for it. We have a good sense of what Zamecnik might have wanted from a theatre group that was underscoring this music.”

The album, which is a collection of music from Zamecnik, is a huge contribution to the world as it portrays the lasting impression Zamecnik had on modern cinema.

ECO Principal Cellist and pianist for the recording of this album opines, “For me to be a part of this film history, where music entered the picture, and from essentially the beginning of film, is remarkably meaningful for me.”

The album “Sound of the Silents” is available on CD and it can also be purchased on iTunes. The album has some exciting titles such as the Evil Plotter, The Treacherous Knave and Defense of Honor. The music of Zamecnik was used for several feature films, cartoons and short films during the early period of the 20th century.

David Graham, ECO Principal Flute, commented, “Playing music that has never been recorded before are both terrifying and liberating; you don’t have anything to compare yourself to. It’s very new, but at the same time, you have also had that kind of weight of saying well, this will be the first.”
