Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 11/20/2014 --In an effort to raise funds and garner support for the Philadelphia Mummers, ADVENT recently established the 2015 date for the second annual Mummers Mardi Gras. Transitioning from The Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties for 2014 to Main Street in Manayunk, the highly anticipated event has been set for Sunday, February 22, 2015. Mummers Mardi Gras will be an all-day event, beginning with a parade down Main Street highlighting all participating Mummers clubs.

Taking a different approach from the inaugural celebration in 2014, the setting and ambiance offered by Manayunk will provide a number of activities and entertainment for the entire family. This Philadelphia Mardi Gras will include performances, music, costumes, entertainment, and a chance for attendees to get up close and personal with the mummers.

The new structure and schedule of the event will represent an opportunity for participating clubs to gain exposure and raise awareness in a different part of the city. The mummers will entertain attendees by visiting particular businesses to perform inside and celebrate together. Guests who attend the family-friendly affair can pose for pictures with their favorite Mummers plus celebrate in conjunction with the clubs’ friends and families. February 22nd will be complete with awards, giveaways, fundraisers, discounts at Main Street businesses, and an abundance of activities for children.
