Winning races and setting records sums up Brett Hearn’s 2014 Northeast dirt track Modified racing season. The Sussex, New Jersey speedster won 22 feature races in 70 starts, two track championships, swept the 53rd Eastern States Weekend with victories in the Saturday 100-lap Small-Block Modified race and the headline Eastern States 200 for DIRTcar Modifieds, and was the leading money winner in Super DIRTcar Modified Series competition. Hearn won the Eastern States 100 for the 15th time and the 200 for the unprecedented 11th and third consecutive time.

Hearn’s other wins of note in 2014 include his 11th triumph in the Mr. Dirt Track USA 100 at Lebanon Valley Speedway (West Lebanon, New York), the Mohawk Valley 100 at Fonda (New York) Speedway, and the Super DIRT Week “Salute to the Troops 150” for 358 Modifieds at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

The 22 race wins raised Hearn’s career victory record to 860, among the most of any drivers in American oval track racing history. Those 860 wins include 532 Big-Block Modifieds victories, 336 in Small-Block Modified competition, and two United Racing Club (URC) Sprint Car triumphs. A master of extra-distance races, Hearn has posted 352 (41 percent of all his wins) in races of 50 laps or longer. He has won races at 49 different speedways in 11 states and two Canadian provinces.

In addition to his 860 feature race victories, Hearn has garnered 86 individual track and series point championships; this year his seventh and third consecutive at Albany-Saratoga Speedway (Malta, New York) and ninth and also third consecutive at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Hearn also won the Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Division title with the best 16-race record across the entire DIRTcar weekly racing circuit.

Hearn is the all-time race winner at Albany-Saratoga Speedway with 116 victories and Orange County Fair Speedway where he has won 301 times.
